Basket

I love to knit but I am otherwise not inherently crafty so when I find something that looks both possible and also functional, I jump right on it. Bonus points for using up toilet paper rolls!

Thanks again to the amazing team at Wee Folk Art for the great idea (click for instructions).

I am forever buying craft supplies and writing supplies and we are forever losing them. The boys each have a Spiderman pencil box that they use for all manner of play except for the actual storing of pencils. When Liam wants to write his letters and it takes me ten minutes to locate an appropriate writing utensil, his enthusiasm has waned considerably by the time we finally get started.

Enter the craft basket! I've added notes to the photo if you click all the way through to Flickr.

Needless to say, it was a hit! There was pre-breakfast art exploring going on round these parts.

Pre-breakfast Atticus is not usually this happy to be awake. The power of art!

I love our basket and it goes everywhere with the kiddos. I was a little afraid that the cardboard tubes wouldn't hold up well, but ours is 2 years old, and although it isn't used everyday, it is used a lot. Besides, toilet paper tubes are easy to come by when they need replacing! Thank you so much for sharing your project with us. You can't imagine how much it pleases Michelle and I to see our patterns being used. Have a lovely Autumn day!
