Walk

We're studying leaves this week so last night, we took a leaf walk.



We crunched through oak leaves and slipped acorns into our pockets.



Sam is hypervigilant on these walks. He's not at all sure that we are keeping our puppies safe and doesn't like it one bit when Liam runs down the trail in front of us. He prefers that the pack stay together.



To be honest, it's hard for me too. It's hard to let my children go out of my reach. It's hard but I have to do it. They need to learn how to feel safe being free.

If Spring is about new beginnings, then Fall is about letting go. It's one of my top four favorite seasons.
